CANADA’S TRADE
FAVOURABLE EXPORT BALANCE. (Received 19, 10.45 a.m.) OTTAWA, April 18. Canada ended the last fiscal year with an export trade balance of 67,693,483 dollars. The domestic exports for the twelve months ended March 31 totalled 473,907,455 against 406,213,972 dollars imports. At the end of the preceding year the Dominion had an import balance of 2,148,580. The value of the total importations then was 578,492,882 dollars and of domestic exports 576,344,302 dollars. Exports of wheat last year totalled 239,375,225 bushels valued at 130,546,365 dollars compared with 191,316,933 bushels valued at 116,739,451 dollars in the preceding twelve months. APPEALS FOR TARIFF BOARD. (Received 19, 1.45 p.m.) ' OTTAWA, April 18. Hundreds of appeals are piling up for, the Tariff Board created through the Ottawa Conference. Huge sums in Customs duties are involved. They include a large number of British appeals from the rulings of Customs boards, claiming that the tariffs on United Kingdom goods are unfair.
