TERRIFIC CYCLONE
.IN NEW CALEDONIA EXTENSIVE DAMACE DONE. DESOLATION EVERYWHERE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received 19, 11.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 19. A terrific cyclone which passed over New Caledonia recently wrought extensive damage, according to a wireless message from the Oronsay, which arrived at Koumea on a pleasure cruise. The message said that there was desolation everywhere. Small ships were carried along and left high and dry by huge seas. Numerous buildings were blown down, crops and trees razed to the ground and the water system dislocated.
