RIFLE SHOOTING
HAWKE’S BAY ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING ON SATURDAY numerous clubs compete. The 25th annual prize meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Rifle Association took place on the Coleman Range at Roy’s Hill on Saturday. Weather conditions were ideal and the shooting was brilliant at times. The entries fell short of the required number on which the programme was based, and it was therefore necessary to curtail the prize-list slightly. Riflemen were present from Gisborne, Graytown, Masterton and local clubs, with the exception of Takapau. Dannevirke and Whetakura were well represented. The champion belt was won by R. Nicholson, of the Napier Club, and the runner-up was F. J. Jeune, of the Gisborne Rifle Club. The champion teams match was won by the Gisborne Club and its win was a very popular one.
