TRAGEDY ON BERENGARIA
DISAPPEARANCE OF CLERYMAN. (Received 18, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, April 17. The “Chronicle’s” special correspondent says that tragedy has overtaken the Prime Minister’s liner. Canon Monroe, sub-dean at Soutuwark, was proceeding to Newfoundland to recover from an illness following his wife’s death at Christmas. Ho disappeared and is presumed to have fallen overboard.
