MATCH PLAY AT WAIOHIKI CHAMPIONSHIP AND HANDICAP SEMI-FINAL STAGE REACHED The Napier Golf Club’s Easter tournament began on Saturday and was eon.inued yesterday in good weather, but the strong westerly blowing made it rather unpleasant for the players. In the earlier qualifying rounds the best gross score tor the two rounds resulted : n a tie between H. E. Troutbeck am: C. S. Geddis, with scores of 155. The best net core for the two route was returned by C. A. Watkins, 162—20—142. The best net score of the morning was G. L. Home Doublas’ 78—10—68. In the afternoon the best net score was returned by’ G. W. Estaugh, who handed in a card which read: 82—18— 64.
