Following a police raid on suspected premises, several men were remanded at Gisborne, on charges associated with holiday gambling. The charges were as follows:—Arthur Owen, for using premises in Gladstone road as a common gaming house, was remanded on £lOO bail; Frederick Lawrence Kenny and Harold Littler aiding and assisting Owen were remanded on £5O bail; Samuel James Bardwell, keeping and using premises for gaming, was remanded on £lOO bail; George Frederick Bardwell, found on premises used for gaming was remanded on £5 bail; John Bradley, using premises for gaming was remanded on £lOO bail; George Gisher Mackay, found on the premises was remanded on £5 bail; Johannes Carl Most, aiding and assisting Bradley, £5O bail. Davis Cup Tennis., Borotra says that he will play In the men's and mixed doubles at Wimbledon in the Davis Cup doubles if desired.
