The builders’ annual dinner, which was held this year at, the Masonic Hotel, Napier, was attenled by 50 separate firms, including builders, architects, icerchauts and allied trades. In the course of the dinner the following toasts were honoured: “The King,” proposed by Mr W. M. Angus; “The Builders,” proposed by Mr Rene Natuseh and responded to by Mr H. C. Curlett; “The Institute of Architects,” proposed by Mr W. B. Bodell. and responded to by Messrs Finch and Westerholm; “The Merchants,” proposed by Mr H. W. Abbott and responded tn by Mr J. Macleod. A most enjoyable concert, consisting of the following items, was also rendered: —Violin solo, “Souvenir.” Mr M. Daily; humorous song. Mr W. Ireland; humorous stories. Mr 11. Marcroft; song, “May I Not Love!” Mr W. Keen; violin solo, Mr Drummond.
