CHURCH NOTICES

At St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, there will be celebrations of the Holy Communion at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.iu., and 9.30 a.m., with hymns, and also at 12 noou in the chapel. The 11 a.m. service will be matins aud sermon, which the children of the parish are invited to attend with their parents; Sunday school children who come to the hah ; t 10.45 a.m. will be marked. Festival evensong will be at 7 p.m. with sermon. The anthem will be taken from “Elijah”—“.The Trumpet Shall Sound” and “Worthy is the Lamb.” At St. Baranbas’, Parkavle, there will be a celebration of tho Holy Communion at 11 a.m., and at Mahora School an evening service at 7 p.m. The subject of the address to be given in the United Hall, Lyndon road, Hastings, on Sunday night is “Bible Teaching Concerning the Devil and Satan.” Au interested welcome. In the Hastings Methodist Church tomorrow, special Easter services will be conducted by the Rev. K. B. Gosnell. The morning subject will be ‘ ‘ The Song —Then the Cross,” a solo being rendered by Miss B. Adams aud an anthem by the choir. The evening subject is “The Divine Challenge of the Ages,” an equiry into the true worth of Christianity. Miss M. Spurdie, of Wanganui, will render a solo, and the choir will sing “King of Kings.” Tho Rev. E. Nicholls will be the preacher at tho Hastings Baptist Church,*Karamu road south, to-morrow. There will be special Easter services, rhe sermon subject in the morning will bo “Resurrection, Life and Power,” and in tho evening “The Rent Veil and What it Means.” The choir will sing Easter anthems, and Miss Merle Sputdle from Wanganui will bo the soloist. Strangers and visitors will be heartily welcomed to the services. The Sunday school and Bible classes will meet as usual, and the 6 p.m. service will be held at the Memorial Hospital. Easter services will be held 'n St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings to-morrow. The preacher at the morning service will be the Rev. J. VV. Martin, and in the evening the Rev. D. J. A. Shaw will occupy the pulpit. Appropriate anthems will be rendered by tho choir, and in the evening Miss Steele, L.A.8., will sing a solo. The evening service will be relayed to St. John’s Hall, Mahora, as usual. Let. us remember Him who gave Himself for US. The Easter services in the Havelock North Presbyterian charge will be conducted by the Rev. R. Waugh, morning and evening at Havelock North, and afternoon at Maraetotara; at Clive by Mr Thorp and Mr Chu. ,
