NEW AMERICAN CRUISER

10,000-TONNER LAUNCHED. (Received 15, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 14. The New Orleans, one of the so-called Treaty 10,000-ton cruisers under con•truction, was launched to-day at the Brooklyn navy yard. It is similar in some respects to the famous German “pocket battleship,’’ and is armed with nine 8-inch guns in three gun-turrets, eight 5-inch antiaircraft guns, four aeroplanes, and two launching catapults.
