GOOD CHEER FOOD DEPOT

At a meeting of the general committee of the Food Depot an executive was appointed as follows: —Mr J. F. Jones (chairman). Mr H. E. Grainger (deputy-chairman), Mr A. D. Ross (deputy-chairman), Mr Tripe (chairman of supplies). Mr Rainbow (treasurer). Mr R. D. Sutherland (secretary), and Mr Mclntosh (representative to the central body). The considered judgment of those members assisting in the work of the Red Cross Association, the Food Depot, District Nursing and Plunket Society was quite evident that the demand for assistance would be considerable. The generous and hearty giving from many sympathetic helpers aided the committee on previous occasions. In again making an appeal on behalf of the food distribution committee. it is confidently anticipated that the response will be generous. A committee to interview the business community was appointed as follows- Messrs Grainger, Mclntosh, Chaplin and Fulton. Cash contributions may bo forwarded direct to the treasurer, Mr Rainbow, care Messrs Rainbow and Hobbs, accountants, Queen street Hastings, or through any member of the committee. Io those willing to offer supplies of meat, vegetables, foodstuffs, etc., a notice intimating possible date of delivery, quantity and other particulars would be of much assistance to the committee. A< announcement regarding the opening of the depot and receipt of supplies will be made at a later date.
