DISTRICT NEWS. . From Our Own Correspondent The monthly meeting of the Ongaonga School Committee was held on Monday evening, Mr J. Russell presiding. Leave of absence was granted Messrs Hutt and Baker. Accounts totalling £3 4/- were passed for payment. Correspondence was received from the Education Board concerning dental clinic enrolment matters. -The headmaster reported that the roll number was 67 and that the attendance had been good. It was decided to procure a further supply of school requisites and also to re-cord all the pictures will copper wire. The many friends of Mr T. Russell, of Hastings, a former Ongaonga resident. wbo has been ill for several weeks, will bo sorry to hear that be has had to enter the hospital. Miss E. S. Dean, of Christchurch, who has been renewing old acquaintances in this district, is the guest of Mrs G. \V. Knight. ■
