A ROUGH TRIP
DIOMEDE STRIKES BAD WEATHER SPEED REDUCED TO SEVEN KNOTS. ALL WELL ABOARD. [Special to Press Assn.; By Radio from H.M.S. Diomede.] (Received 13, 11.45 a.m.) H.M.S. DIOMEDE, April 13. H.M.b. Diomede, which is conveying i heir Excellencies to Samoa, run into bad weather shortly alter leaving Auckland. Hie conditions on Tuesday night and all day on Wednesday were very stormy, with strong head winds and heavy seas which eventually necessitated a reduction of speed to seven knots. The Diomede frequently shipped seas and was a very wet ship for a time, but came through the ordeal with credit. The most serious loss was a crash of erates containing eggs. All the King’s men could not put these eggs together again. Iho weather has slightly improved and the ship is going at ordinary cruising speed. All «re well on board and hope to reach Nukualofa at 11.15 a.m. on Saturday.
