EASTER MONDAY SPORTS

HAVELOCK NORTH CLUB. ENTRIES EXCEED EXPECTATIONS Events for the Havelock Nortn monster sports meeting to be held on Easter Monday have exceeded all previous years. In the athletic and cycling events alone over 70 competitors have entered, while great interest is being shown by competitors interested in the dog trials, for which entries are expected to be larger than ever before. The stewards in charge of the horse events also have spared no pains to ensure of this year’s meeting being better than previously, as far as horse events are concerned. All who attend are assured of an excellent day’s outing; picnickers will be well catered for and hot water will be available free, while refreshment booth and other stalls will piovide all that is required. Special attention has been paid this year to the setting out of the ground so that everyone will be suited. Pedestrians and motor vehicles will find the entrance to the ground in the usual place on the Hastings road, but the attention of those in charge of horses is drawn to the new entrance for horses on the Te Aute road, immediately on the Havelock side of the first bridge, and special provision has been made for watering and hitching horses at that side of the ground. HANDICAPS FOR ATHLETIC EVENTS The following handicaps have been declared for the athletic and cycling events at the annual sports meeting of the Havelock North Amateur Athletic Sports Club, to be held at Havelock on Easter Monday. Late entrants and those whose handicaps are not shown but are marked *, will see the handicapper or the secretary on the grounds.
