BOXING
KNUCKEY v. WRIGHT. AT HASTINGS ON SATURDAY. Len Knuckey does not boast that he will beat George Wright when he meets him in tho Hastings Drill Hall on Saturday night next, but he is quietly confident and is certain that he will be able to put up the best showing of his career. George Wright, who is the New Zealand champion, probably has similar views, but he has not arrived yet to express them. He is due in Hastings by the express train on Friday. In any case, whatever his views may be his record shows him to be a great little battler who likes the going when it is hardest, so the match has all the ingredients of something worth seeing. The spice will be added by the fact that the amateur bouts will be provided between the Feilding and Hawke’s Bay amateurs, and everything points to a tip-top evening. In view of the intervention of the holiday period, patrons are urged to make certain of a seat by reserving at Donovan’s.
