BRITISH IMPROVEMENT 27,000 TONS INCREASE. OFFICIAL LLOYD’S REPORT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received 12, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 11. For the first time in three years shipbuilding activities in Britain present a more favourable aspect. Work on 27,000 more tons is proceeding than during the three months ended March 31. representing the first quarterly increase since March 31, 1930, according to Lloyd’s returns. Nevertheless, the total of 252,401 tons under construction is 120,572 tons below the tonnage building a year ago
