WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
HARVEY, FULTON AND HILL,
Messrs. Harvey, Fulton and Hill report having had an exceptionally big yarding at their market sale on Saturday last, poultry in particular coming from all parts of the district, including Waipawa, Whakarara, Takapau and Sherenden. Entries completely exceeded expectation, and late entries were sold from the crates as every pen was full to overflowing. There was a largo attendance of the public, and prices were on a par with previous sales. Fullgrown cockerels sold well as did most young lines, but old hens were not in demand. There is a keen inquiry for good porkers, these realising up to 39/-. Prices were:— Porkers to 39/-, slips 13/6; prime 8.0. cockerels 3/6 to 2/1, W.L. pullets to 5/9, 8.0. pullets to 4/9; Pekin drakes to 2/9, Runner ducks 1/10, Runner drakes 1/6 to 2/-, ducklings 8d each; turkey hens 6/-; dead geese 3/3, live geese 3/6 to 4/-; W.L. hens 1/- to 1/10, 8.0. hens to 2/-, W.L. cockerels to 1/10. A big line of Muscovy drakes and also some turkey gobblers failed to reach reserves.
