JOYLANDS CABARET
PRIVATE PARTY Quite a large number of dancing enthusiasts from Opapa, Waipawa, Otaue and Hastings marie up a private dancing party on Friday of last week and visited the “Joyland’s” Dance Hall at Westshore Beach, Napier, when they spent a most enjoyable evening. Conditions for dancing were ideal, and every opportunity was taken of the facilities offered by “Joylands”, situated as it is on the beach overlooking the sea. Being practically full moon, the outlook from the large verandah, of Scinde Island, the boats in the bay and the rolling waves bathed in moonlight was a sight well worth seeing. The hall had been tastefully decorated, and a dainty supper was served by the management. Music for the evening was supplied by W. Mitchell’s Joylands cabaret orchestra. The dancers so thoroughly enjoyed themselves that they danced on till the early hours of the morning, and were reluctant to go home. Amongst those present were: 1. C. Macphail, Miss S. Ellworthy, D. Williams, J. Nelson, Miss G. Nelson, B. Rainbow, Miss M. Rainbow, R. Hobbs, N. Holderness, H. Chambers, fl. Browning, Miss L. Dasent. H. MacKenzie, J. MacKenzie, Miss Coleman, F. Williams, R.
