A “KITCHEN” TEA
FOR A FUTURE BRIDE. On Friday afternoon Mrs G. Si. Hindmarsh, Southampton street, was the hostess at a very bright and entertaining “kitchen” tea given in honour of Miss Jessica Saunders, whose wedding takes place next week. Mrs Hindmarsh wore a pretty frock of green figured silk crepe, with little cage sleeves, and Mrs Caro, her mother, was in blue Liberty linen patterned in darker tones of blue. Miss Jessica Saunders looked very attractive in a suit of maize wool Afgalaine, and a black hat; Mrs Saunders was in a tailored black coat and skirt, and a black hat, and Miss Mary Saunders wore a tweed ensemble. Mrs Gore looked smart in a coat and skirt of black and green figured crepe-de-chine. Other guests were Mrs Tripe, Mrs F. Donnelly, Mrs W. R. Stead, Mrs Roehfort, Mrs Stapleton, Mrs F. _ von Dadelszen, Mrs Romaine Wright; Misses E. Cotterill, C. Symes, Rachael and Laila Cotterill, J. and B. Landels, L. Candy. J. Barker, M. Brodie S. Murray, Chapman, P, Hoadley and P. von Dadelszen. The drawing-room had bowls of late autumn roses and zinnias placed here and there which were very gay and fragrant Much amusement was caused by an interesting advertisement competition, When well known advertisements with the names cut off were placed along the verandah and in the garden for everyone to guess. Miss J. Barker won the prize. After a very delicious tea Miss Saunders opened a great pile of parcels ill containing kitchen utensils, and many most useful things were disclosed l including even a big floor mop and, luckily, no duplicates. The very jolly afternoon concluded with conversation and many good wishes for Miss Saunders.
