HAUMOANA

BEACH IMPROVEMENT MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Hau. moana Beach Improvement Society was held in the hall on Tuesday evening. Mr G. F. Reeves presided over the following committee: Messrs. Philips Martin-Smith, Cockerill, Gordon, Estaugh, Bowen and Thomson (secretary). Accounts amounting to £1 8/- were passed for payment. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of thanks to Mr Greening for erecting appliances for the stage. It was arranged to Interview Mr Pufflett concerning relief work. A sub-commit-tee was formed to interview the caretaker with regard to the planting of trees in Cavell Park. Several other matters of importance were discussed at the meeting. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
