N.Z. EXCHANGE POLICY

IMPORTERS’ ATTITUDE ENDORSED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 11. The Wellington Importers’ Association passed the following resolution last evening: “This association endorses the attitude of tho New Zealand Importers’ Federation in its unswerving opposition to the Government’* reckless exchange policy and approving the federation's published statement* on behalf of the business community M a protest against a Governmental procedure which was disorganising business and undermining publie confidence; further, that official attempts to withhold details of the obligations to th* banks under the Exchange Indemnity Act until the end of the yekr will only add to the uncertainty felt by the entire community, und, as the public has the unquestioned right to know the exact position at all times, this association urges the Government to issue full details so that it may be possible for citizens to judge the full effects of thin utterly unwarranted and clearly damaging policy of inflated exchange.”
