MISSING SHIP

FRUITLESS SEARCH FOR KINSEN MARU. WIDE AREA COMBED. Sydney, March 15. A radio message received to-day slutcs that the steamer Talleyrand has abandoned the search for the Kinsen Maru, having combed out 60 miles south of the spot indicated as the last known position of the missing vessel. Tho musters of other vessels in tho same area declare that the weather prevailing when the SOS was received would have carried tho Kinsen Maru north-east into the open sea. The Talleyrand, which is bound for Rabaul, has been authorised, if necessary, to continue the search until Friday morning. Later: The Talleyrand haa decided

to continue the search for the Kinsen Maru’s crew and is being aided by the Japanese vessel Shinahi Mani.
