A damaged axle and front wheel was caused to a milk van belonging to Mr W. Yeoman, of Taradale, shortly before innl-ilay yesterday, when the vehicle swerved violently to avoid col'.ding with another vcnivle at the intersection of Tennyson and Hastings streets. Mr Yeoman’s van was proceeding up Tennyson street towards Hastings street and when arriving at ilip intersection another ear passed directly in front of it. To avoid a collision, the driver of the milk-van bad to apply the brakes hard, with the result that the van swerved violently, causing a great strain on the front of the vehicle.
