GOOD SALE FOR LAMBS. STORE AND FAT SHEEP SELL UP TO LAST WEEK’S RATES. There was a good sale for lambs at Waipukurau to-day, whilst store and fat sheep were holding w’ell and sold up to last week's rates. Cattle experienced a better sale, the quality of the yarding being above that of last week. Prices:— Fat Cattle: 5 medium-weight P.A. bullocks, £4 10/-; 2 bullocks, P.A. and Hereford, not so well finished, £4; 9 4 and 5-yr. Hereford bullocks, big framed, £5 1/-; 1 fat Jersey cross cow’, £2; 1 do., £1 17/-; 2 P.A. and Jersey cross cows, £2 3/-; 6 well-covered Hereford bullocks. in good order, £4 7/6 an 1 £4; 12 P.A. and Hereford cross bullocks, a big boned line of South Makaretu cuttle. £4 15/-; a further line of 6, not as well finished, £3 19/6; 3 heavy bullocks, mixed in colour and breed, £4 1/-. Store Cattle: 2 light-conditioned Jersey cross cows and calves, £1 10/ ; 1 Shorthorn bull, £1 .11/-; 6 small Jerseycross heifers, in calf, £2; 4 light-condi-tioned Jersey yearling steers, 19/-. Fat Sheep: A pen of 33 average quality fat ewes, 5/-; 55 m.a. S.D. ewes, 9/1; 12 prime fat lambs, early shorn, black woollod, 11/4; 2 pens of fat 4th. wethers, big, well-covered, 10/11; 61 fat lambs, on account E. C. Nation, Punawaitai, passed at 9/6; 8 good quality fat lambs fetched 12/8; 116 fat lambs, another lino of Punawaitai sheep, passed at 8/8; 8 prime fat lambs realised 11/8. Store Sheep: 460 2 th. ewes, including 8 S.D. rams, an even-framed line, passed at 14/9; 196 wether lambs fetched 7/4; 176 4 and 5-yr. ewes, on account AV. Matthews, Wanstead, age. guaranteed. 6/11; 170 5-yr. ew’es. on account. W. B. White, Takapau, 5/10 and 5/9: 125 5-yr. ewes, Poraiignhaii sheep, 8 I; 134 2-lh. ewes, a good even line, .13/1; 118 well wonllcd ew-e lambs, a line from the Argyll district, 9/6; 170 wether lambs, 7/5; a. further lot of 1.72, 6/8; 162 Down cross owe lambs, small but conditioned, 7/6; 105 forward ewes, 3/-; 77 2-th. ewes, on account J. D. Davidson, Porangahau, passed at 11/9; 75 5-yr. s.in.' ewes realised 7/2; 83 4 and 6 -th. ewes, on account C. Patterson, 11/3; 82 f. and f. wethers, 9/7.
