The usual weekly old-time dance and card tourney was held in the Trades Hall on Saturday night when there was the usual large attendance of both dancers and card players. Mrs. Hearn ’a orchestra was again responsible for an excellent musical programme, while Mr. A. Butcher carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual capable manner. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Pine and Mr. Sudfield, with Miss McGregor and Air. C. Laurent second. In the card room the final of a series of aggregate nights was won by Mrs. Overend first and Mrs. Symonds and Mrs. Jones second in the ladies, and Messrs. Johnson and Nesbitt in the gentlemen’s section. The aggregate was won by Mrs. Laredo and -Mr. Garvey.
