CYCLING

PROPOSED REORGANISATION. SUGGESTIONS TURNED DOWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch March 10. A suggestion that the centres of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association be reorganised to vest full control of cycling with the actual representative nomin-w«» not supported at the conference this morning of cycling delegates from various parts of the Dominion. The subject was introduced by a remit from the Auckland mover, Mr H. L, Towers, who said that the remit was presented not because there was dissatisfaction with the present system of control, but with the object of *ssistmg the general cause of athletic* and cycling. Some delegates thought that th* proposed system would be cumbersome. Mr P. N. Robinson said that a Wellington remit suggested that the representation of cycling and athletic* should be changed slightly. Finally the Wellington remit was withdrawn. The Auckland proposal was defeated, only the mover and seconder favouring it.
