Rugby, March 7. j An improvement in industries is the I explanation for the better figures in I the unemployment total, which was re- ■ duced during February by 46,437. An improvement in employment occurred in building, public works contracting, I woollen, worsted, iron, steel and the ; general engineering industries and in | the boot and shoe manufacture and shipping services. There was a slight decline in coal mining and certain other industries. It is estimated that I 55,000 more persons were employed in ' February than in the previous month.
