The Air Estimates total £17,426,000, which, allowing for the transfer from other estimates of £360,000, means a reduction of £340,000 compared with last year. The gross total for civil aviation is £663,000, of which the Imperial Airways subsidy is £365.000 and the sum for extension of the route from India to Australia £30,000. Lord Londonderry’s memorandum hopes that with the absence of unforeseen delays regular communication to Australia may be established in the late summer or early autumn.
