COMBINED CLUB NIGHT NAPIER AND TE AWA In spite of ileal weather conditions last evening the combined club night of the Napier and Te Awa Swimming Clubs attracted comparatively few entries. The times of the various events were fairly satisfactory? although none was outstanding. The feature of the programme was the water polo match between teams representing H.M.S. Diomede and Te Awa, the result being a draw. The following were the results of the various events:— Junior bovs’ 66 2-3 yards (Freedman Cup).—ifcGrath X. Intermediate boys’ 440 yards Hawke’s Bay championship.—Boardman (Te Awa 1, Vesty (Mahore) 2. Time, 6 min. 15 3-5 secs. Breaststroke handicap, 220 yards.— Stone 1, Atkinson 2, McCashin 3. Time, 3 minutes, 30 2-5 secs Polo.—H.M.S. Diomede (1) drew with Te Awa (1). Napier B. (4) beat Te Awa B. (nil). HAVELOCK CLUB CARNIVAL. WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S PROGRAMME. The special events on to-night’s programme at the Havelock baths are the War Memorial 220 yards (men) and the Luke Wilson 100 yards Tor ladies. These events are open to members of any Hawke’s Bay club and good entries are expected. Other events are:—Learners’ Cup, Millar Cup and junior diving; Newbigin Cup, 50 yards; Christie Cup, 100 yards; junior scouts, 50 yards; senior scouts, 75 yards; schoolboys, 25 yards; schoolgirls, 25 yards; junior teams’ race and senior teams’ race. A polo match, Napier v. Hnveloek. will bo played at the conclusion of the racing.
