STORTFORD LODGE SALE BULLOCK VALUES FIRM COWS AND HEIFERS EASIER. With an entry of 260 fat cattle and 550 stores, the cattle yards at Stortford Lodge were well filled to-day. There was a heavy entry of bullock* in the fat section, but cows and heifer* were represented in only fair numbei*. There were some good lines of cow* and heifers, but the majority of the offerings were only average. Bullock beef prices were firm with those ruling last week, but cows and heifers were distinctly easier, thw being due to an over-supply in the market. , Station drafts were well represented, a particularly good dxaft being PAbullocks offered on account of Mr. F. Douglas, of Elsthorpe, 3 prime bullockn selling at £6 19/-. A further three realised £6 15/-. Three P.A. cross bullocks, medium weights, sold at £4 19/-; a second ent of three slightly lighter bullocks, *4 8/*» A further draft from Mr. F. Douglas, three prime heavy weights, realieed £7 0/6. Three other P-A. bullodt* from the same vendor, lighter finished, sold at £6 12/-. A further draft of 6 P.A. bullocks sold at £6 15/- and £6 12/6 in two cuts. The last of the Elsthorpe bulloek% four P.A., prime heavy condition, realised £6 16/-; and three P.A. bnllocks sold at £6 10/-. « « Two prime heavy weight P.A. bollocks, a fine pair of beasts, sold well at £7 4/-. A further pair of P.A. cros* bullocks made an excellent price of £7 8/-. These were a particularly fine pair of beasts. Shorthorn bullocks, two in the neo prime heavyweights, sold at £7 1/-. A single Hereford bullock, in wellfinished condition, was a good buy at £5 13/6, while another Hereford te similar order realised £5 12/6. Jersey bullocks, three well finished animals, of medium weights, were put by at £5 17/6. Three further Jersey bullocks were also passed at £5 17/6. A single P.A. bullock, a fine body of beef in prime heavyweight order, sold at £7 17/6. Three P.A. bullocks, medium finished beasts, but good fattening, realised £o 14/-. Hereford bullocks, three in the line, medium to heavy weights, in prime order,'sold at £6 3/- after *ome brisk bidding. A big draft of P.A. and P.A. cros* bullocks, medium weights, fairly well finished, sold at from £5 to £6 1/- in six cuts. A prime heavy weight Hereford bullock, big framed and well covered,’ sold late in the sale at £B, top price of the day. A further single entry, Hereford beef, sold at £6 6/-. Two Hereford heifers, nuggety beasts in prime order, made a good price of £5 1/-. A further separate entry, a well finished Hereford heifer, realised £5 2/-. A single Hereford heifer, big framed and well covered, sold late in the sale at £4 15/-. A single P.A. heifer, nuggety and in prime order, had a good sale at £4 12/-. Hereford cows, two in number, prime medium weights, sold at £3 12/-. Two other Herefords, not so well finished, realised £3 ]/-. Four P.A. cows, medium weight ar'l condition, made £3 2/-. A single Hertford cow, well finished, sold at £3 12/6. A single P.A. cow, in prime order, and of medium weight had a good sale at £3 12/-. STORE SHEEP. There was a yarding of about 9000 store sheep, a large proportion of th* offering beiug breeding ewes, with a fairly good muster of lambs. The lot* were smaller than has been the ca*e for several weeks, and the bulk of the offering was of fairly even quality, with few outstanding lines. B.D. rams, from Matapiro Station, passed at 6s 6d; 218 5-yr ewes, good frames, passed at 7s lOd; 239 4 and 5-yr ewes, from Otamauri, sold at 8s; 205 4-yr ewes, from high country, good line, passed at 10s 6d; 196 4 and 6-th ewes, from Ot*niauri, sold at 12s; 125 2 th ewes, from Mangatalii, 10s lOd; 132 2-th ewes, from Otamauri, 9s sd; 202 2 and 4-th wethers from Mr Norman Law, Tiniroto, passed lit 9s 2d; 156 s.m. ewes, from A. Averill, Maraekakaho, realised 5s lOd; 166 6-yr s.m. ewes, good type, 5s sd; 179 6-th to 5-yr ewes, from Mr C. W. Reeves, Putorino, 6s 8d; 158 5-yr ewes from Mr I Norman Law, Putorino, 7s 6d; 111 wether lambs, from Wairoa, by boat, passed at 6s 9d; 75 wether lambs, from Mangatabi, sold at 4s lOd; 58 ewe lambs, same vendor, 6s; 60 s.m. ewes, 4s 6d; 55 do., 4s Id; 118 2-th ewes, from Mr C. AV. Reeves, Putorino, with few 4-ths, 10s 3d; 92 2-th ewes, from Mr Norman Law, Tiniroto, 10s 6d; 109 4 and 6-th ewes, from Rissington, 8s 4d; 66 f. and f. Down cross lambs, Bs, 5.0. a.; 51 2-th ewes, from Rissington, 9s; 140 ewe lambs, from Otamauri, 7s 7d; 107 5-yr ewes, from Moore’s Estate, Rissington, 6s sd; 102 2-th ewes, same vendor, 12s; 89 store ewes, Is 9d; 106 wether lambs, passed at 7s 4d; 55 5-yr ewes, large frames, 7s 3d; 163 lambs passed at 6s; 60 m.s. lambs, passed at 7s 6d; 75 f. and f.
