The monthly mooting of the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation Society was held in Napier last evening, presided over by the chairman, Mr J. H. Edmundson. Accounts totalling £ll 0s lOd were passed for payment. Tho curator, Mr J. Anderson, stated in his monthly report that he had titiversed the Manawatu river from the back of Holden’s property to Raumati, observing some trout of a good quality as well as a largo quantity of fry. In response to information received to tho effect that there had been some poaching in the streams, he had travelled extensively over the district, but had found no signs of anyone committing such an offence.
