FRUIT EMBARGO
COMMONWEALTH'S UNDERTAKING. CONFERENCE TO FOLLOW LIFTING OF BAN. (Received 7, 10.30 a.m.) Canberra, March 6Arising out of the New Zealand Government’s invitation to the Commonwealth Government to send a Minister to the Dominion to discuss the embargo on Australian fruit, the Federal Cabinet to-night sent an undertaking to New Zealand that if the embargo on fruit is withdrawn a conference will be arranged at the earliest date with the New Zealand Government for the purpose of reviewing trade relations between the two countries.
