WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
HARVEY, FULTON AND HILL. Messrs. Harvey, Fulton and Hill report having a large entry of live stock (especially poultry) at their Hastings yards on Saturday last. Buyers were there in full force and keen competition was the result. A feature of the sale was an exceptionally good line of 55 purebred pullets sold on account of Mr. C. Bushett, which realised 6/- and 7/- each. Considering the age and quality this was good buying. A further consignment of this line will be offered on the 18th instant.
The following prices were realised: — W.L. pullets, 6/- to 7/-; hens, 1/2 to 2/7; Sussex cockerels, to 2/10; ducks, small, 1/7; others, to 2/5; 8.0. cockerels, 1/7 to 2/10; 8.0. pullets, small, 2/4 to 3/-; cull pullets, 2/2 to 3/6. 0.8. rimu timber, 13/- per 100 ft.; potatoes, 2/6 to 3/- sugar bag; blackberries, 6d lb.; tomatoes, 9d to 1/- i case; cucumbers, 6d dozen; watermelons, 6d to 1/3; citron melons, 1/- to 1/3; rock melons, 3d to 8d; carrots, 1/- half tin. During the day a large quantity of sundries, furniture, etc., were sold at satisfactory prices.
