A nice point in terminology was I raised by Mr. J. B. Callan in the Supreme Court, Napier, last night. A witness described a building as having been “badly demolished.’’ Mr Callan mildly suggested that perhaps the witness meant “damaged. ’ Mr H. I'. Johnston, appearing for the other side, demurred, whereupon his Honour, Mr I Justice Blair, said, “Ob, well, we’ll I get it later on, I suppose.’’ Mr Callan I softly: “It was just a matter of eleg- ' anee in phrasing, that was all, you know.’’ (Laughter).
