GRASS FIRE. The Havelock North Fire Brigade was called out shortly before 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon to a grass fire on Mr Vivian Thompson’s property on the Kaponga road. The flames had spread from a rubbish-fire to the dry grass adjacent and fears were felt that it might spread to a small plantation bordering Mr Thompson’s property. The services of the brigade were not., however, required, as the fire was extinguished with the help of several neighbours.
