N.Z. DAIRY INDUSTRY
EARL OF ROSSLYN IMPRESSED. DENMARK COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, March 6. The Earl of Rosslyn, who sails tomorrow after a tour of New Zealand, expressed himself as impressed with the New Zealand dairy industry. He remarked that mass production alone could cause the cheapness of cheese, which was cutting into the English markets. Speaking of butter, he said he could buy it in Sussex for 1/1J though it could not be made there under 1/8. Denmark was supplying £4,999,999 worth to Britain and New Zealand could easily supply a further fourth of that amount.
