WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
TWYFORD GROUP. The annual meeting of the Twyford Women’s Institute was held in the school on Saturday, and was exceptionally well attended; Mrs Manson, president, was in the chair. Alter the Institute song, the annual report was read, and the balance-sheet presented, both proving highly satisfactory. The sum of £3 was voted to the Twyford Hall fund, and a donation given to the school committee. Miss J. Munro was the Winner of Hie points prize for the. year, and Mrs Manson won the potato competition, with a yield of 411bs. liom three potatoes. The annual election then took place, .Mrs Carrington and Miss Fletcher kindly acting as scrutineers. The following were elected: President, Miss McMichael; vice-presidents. Mesdanies Manson and Mitchell; secretary, Miss Munro; treasurer, Mrs Tweedie; committee. Mesdames Bainbridge, Burge, Burrell, Cameron and Shaw. Airs \Y alkcr, in a very pleasing speech, thanked Mrs Manson for ali she had done during her three years as president, and Mrs Afchur spoke in a similar strain of what Airs Mitchell had done in her capacity a 5 secretary for the Same period. Mrs Burge, on behalf of the Institute, presented Mrs Manson with a beautiful bouquet and Miss Munro handed Mrs Alitchell one also. Mrs Tweedie was hostess, and a delicious tea was handed round. In conclusion, .Mis M inson handed a bouquet to her successor, Miss McMichael, and Mrs Cameron asked Miss Munro the nieoniiiig secretary, also to accept'one. AH the bouquets were made by the Louer show < oiiiinittce. The singing of ■'God Save the- King’’ concluded the ■’itci'iioon.
