ANOTHER ATTEMPT ON EVEREST
EXPEDITION RECEIVES LAMA’S BENEDICTION. (Received 0, 10.15 a.m.) Calcutta, March 4. The Mount Everest expedition left Darjeeling yesterday for the first stage of its operations preparatory to its assault on the world’s highest mountain. Before tho departure Tibetan Lamas held a prayer meeting and every member of the expedition received the Benediction of the head Buddhist Lama, and was adorned with a holy scarf for the neck.
