AUSTRALIAN NAVY
CHANGES TO BE MADE. STRENGTHENING THE FLEET. (Received 6, 12.35 p.m.) Melbourne, March 6. The seaplane carrier Albatross is being withdrawn from active service and placed on the reserve. She will, it is believed, be replaced by a more modern warship from the British Navy. The Minister of Defence stated that the changes that were being made in the Australian Navy would be in the direction of strengthening the fleet.
