A CABINET OF TEN

NO INCREASE TO BE MADE. MR ENDEAN AS ATTORNEYGENERAL? (From Our Special Parliamentary Reporter.) Parlt. Buildings, March 1. It may be stated with some certainty that the size of Cabinet will not be increased when the adjustments necessary as the result of the resignation of the Hon. W. Downie Stewart from the portfolio of Finance are finally made. Lobby opinion is that the Coalition Government will adhere to the principle formerly laid down that the work of Cabinet will be effectively carried out by ten Ministers. It is considered that this decision enhances the chances of preferment of Mr W. P. Endean, member for Parnell, who is a member of the legal profession and therefore will be eligible for the position of Attorney-General.
