GOODS FROM JAPAN
CHECK ON DUMPING POSITION UNDER TRADE TREATY London, Dec. 18. A Government check on the dumping of Japanese goods in the British Dominions and Colonies is being pressed for by a number of members of the House of Commons. India, Ceylon and East Africa are particularly mentioned as places to which the goods are sent. The British Government declares that it is impossible, pending a year’s notice, to abrogate the Japanese trade treaty, and on that question the Dominions must first be consulted.
