SWIMMING
THE HAVELOCK NORTH CLUB LAST EVENING’S CARNIVAL The Havelock North Swimming Club held its weekly carnival in the public baths last evening. Owing to the small attendance no charge was made for admission. A special bus will leave Havelock to-night at 7.30 for the Rainbow Shield carnival at Mahora Baths. It is hoped that Havelock supporters will be there in full force. Charges for admission have been reduced to 6d for adults and 3d for children. Results last night were:— Intermediate girls’ 25 yards.—N. Treneman 1, T. Eves 2, J. Satchwell 3. School children’s 25 yards.—S. Webby 1, B. Marven 2, E. Leicester 3. Intermediate 50 yards.—H. Christie 1, D. Elder 2, B. Morley 3. Open 50 yards.—First heat: F. Fergusson 1, A. Christie 2, P. Graham 3. Seceond heat: J. Leedom 1, J. Pollock 2, F. Russell 3. Final: J. Leedom 1, A. Christie 2. Learners’ dive.—D. Eves 1, J. Duncan 2, E. Webby 3. Medley 75 yards.—G. Christie 1, D. Inglis 2. Teams’ race.—J. Pollock, T. Jago and F. Russell 1, B. Christie, A. Duncan and E. Leicester 2, P.
