WEEKLY MARKET REPORT

GORDON WALKER, LTD. Messrs. Gordon Walker, Ltd., report holding their usual weekly market sale on Saturday last, when they offered a full yarding of all classes of live and dead stock to a full attendance of the public. The yarding of poultry was exceptionally heavy, due to the fact of it being the main Christmas sale. Pigs were easier in price and were yarded in good numbers. The following prices were realised:— Poultry.—Prime table birds 1/6 to 3/4, W.L. hens 1/4 to 2/5, 8.0. hens 1/10 to 3/2, W.L. cockerels 1/9 to 2/8, 8.0. cockerels 2/3 to 3/4, I.R. ducks 2/3 to 4/-, Muscovy ducks 3/3 to 5/-, turkeys 6/6 to 12/-, prime young cockerels 1/3 to 2/6, W.L. chick cockerels 3d to 7d, W.L. pullets 2/3 to 3/-. Pigs.—Weancrs 8/- to 11/6, slips 10/6 to 14/-, stores 17/- to 20/6, porkers 24/- to 26/-. Dairy Stock.—l Jersey cow £4 12/6. Fruit, produce and sundries realised very satisfactory prices to the vendors. A most outstanding sale was conducted on behalf of the Estate J. M. Chambers. Prices were typical of the Christmas spirit, the following prices being realised: —Field glasses £lO 5/-, gold cuff links £8 10/-, motor cycle £lO, pearl stud £1 10/-, tennis racquet £3, golf clubs £2 10/-, trout reel £3 6/-, do. £1 15/-, trout rod £2 2/6.
