WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
PUKEHOU GROUP. The monthly meeting of the Pukehou Women’s Institute took the form of a garden party nt the residence of Miss L. Williams. After the singing of the Institute song, the president, Mrs Campbell, gave a hearty welcome to three visitors and then the usual business was transacted Members all repaired to the tennis courts, where a “golf” game was played, each member taking part. All were so keenly interested that the time went all too quickly. Mrs Bunting was the winner, and the egg-and-spoon race wh! n b followed was won by Mrs Olsen. A dilicious afternoon tea was then served, the hostesses being Mesdames Gray, G. Warren and Miss Hank The competition was the icing of Xmas cakes, Mrs Gray securing first prize and Mrs Neave second. The singing of the National Anthem brought a very pleasant afternoon to a clbse. Before parting Mi’s L. Williams mid Mrs Omnnliell wished everyone tho cmiiplim ei.s of the season, which ever# heartily reciprocated.
