WEEK-END PLAY THE HASTINGS CLUB VISIT FROM ST. LEONARDS. Hastings had an interchange of visits this week with rinks from St. Leonards and a most enjoyable series of games resulted. On Thursday St. Leonards had two wins and Hastings one win and the total points showed a difference of one in favour of St. Leonards. On Saturday St. Leonards won two games and drew one, while Hastings won four games and drew one. The members of Kia Toa took full advantage of the perfect weather prevailing during the week-end, and many of the games for the third round of the club’s competitions were played, The club was (Visited by two teams from Hastings and one from St. Leonard’s, and the games played were very much enjoyed by all. HAVIIUOCK NORTH CLUB INTERESTING GAMES. Some very interesting bowling was played on the Havelock green during the week. R. Russell played G. Joll for the Cottle medal and was successful in holding it by 24 to 14. J. H. Joll failed to wrest it from him by 16 to 22. His third go was with W. Another fine week resulted in considerable use being made of St. Leonards green. On Thursday three rinks from the Hastings Club were engaged, and on the aggregate St. Leonards won by the narrow margin of one point. On Saturday an inter-club match was played, again with the Hastings Club, and this time Hastings won by three points. Entries close with the secretary on December 24. THE NAPIER CLUB. Saturday would have been an ideal bowling day but for one condition, and that was a rather strong breeze. This, in combination a very fast green, made accurate drawing to the jack a. very difficult task, as even the best of bowlers found to their cost, this being well shown in the uneven scoring in the different games played.
