Nominations for all handicap events at the Takapuna Jockey Club’s Meeting and final payment for the Takapuna Plate will close with the acting-secre-tary (Mr E A. Spinley) at the club’s office, 67 Shortland street, Auckland, on Friday next, November 4, at 5 p.m.
The executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference is drafting regulations to permit clubs to use the win and place method of totalisator betting. It is anticipated that the regulations will be approved in time to allow of clubs running their meetings under this system toward the end of the year. As in the case of the three dividends and two dividends in five-horse races, the system of win and place will be optional.—‘ ‘ The Watcher. ’ ’
