RAINFALL IN HAWKE’S BAY
DISTRICT REPORTS. Rain fell at Fernhill on eight days last month according to the records supplied by Mr Arthur J. Morris, Of Rotoiti. The total fall amounted to half an inch as follows:—October 10th, ,04ins.; 11th, .02; 19th, .02; 20th, .01 ; 22nd, .08; 23rd, .18; 24th, .05; 2&tb, .10; total, .Joins. The total rainfall for Napier was .43 inches in October.
Mr T. P. Clark, reports that 60 points of rain fell at Hedgely, Eskdale, during October, being the driest October since 1914. Rain fell on 11 days as follows:—Bth, .1; 12th, .8; 13th, .1; 14th, .4; 18th, .5; 20th, .3; 21st, JS; 23rd, .24; 24th, .4; 27th, .3; 29th, 2; total, .60 inch. Rain fell at Mangatahi on eight days as follows:—12, .03; 18, .01; 20, .02; 21, .3; 22, .06; 23, .28; 24, £3; 29, .20; total, .86 inch. Mr McLean, Glencoe, reports rainfall for October as follows: —10, .02; 17, .02; 20, .02 ; 21, .01; 24. .39 ; 25, B 8; 29, .38; total, .92 inch. The rainfall for the year up to the end of October is 31.53 inches.
