Lighting at McLean Park.

The installation of a modern crossbeam Hood-lighting system at McLean Park, Napier, is expected to be erected before Christmas. The principal movers in the scheme are the Napier Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club. The four towers are to be erected immediately, in readiness ■ for the lamps when they arrive about December 15. Actually the lighting system will lie a gift to the town, being erected on borough property, and the action of the Athletic Club in taking ovei a liability of over £lOO is commendabte. With th, ir usual enthusiasm, the members are embarking on a scheme by which it is hoped that the whole of the liability will be wiped oft this year.
