MEAT WORKS ACTIVITY
OPERATIONS PROCEEDING IN AUCKLAND. CARGO FOR HOME STEAMER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Oct. 27. Work proceeded smoothly at the freezing works and cool stores yesterday, and representatives of the freezing companies stated that the new staffs were working well. One manager said that by the time the seasonal rush set in the men now being trained for the more skilled portions of tne work would be capable of doing their tasks. Yesterday afternoon all the butter and cheese to be taken from Auckland by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Remuera had been loaded out of the cool store. The last of the frozen pork and veal from the Horotiu and Southdown works needed to complete the ship’s cargo was brought into the city.
