N.S.W UNEMPLOYED MASS DEMONSTRATIONS INTENDED. MANY DELIBERATELY SEEK TROUBLES. (United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright.) (Received 27, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, Oct. 26. The unemployed have deeided to attempt to organise mass demonstrations in Sydney, Newcastle, Kurri Kurri, Cessnock and the south coast mining towns to-morrow night in an effort to force the Government to withdraw the police reinforcements from Cessnock. Further trouble developed at Broken Hill. Numbers of unemployed deliberately committed offences so that they would be arrested. QUESTION OF INTERNAL LOAN. (Received 27, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, Oct. 26. The “Herald’s” Melbourne correspondent says that the Premiers’ Conference has abandoned the proposal for an internal loan of £20,000,000 and is likely to agree to an alternative proposal for an internal loan of £8,000,000 to £10,000,000 for public works. Mr Lyons informed the Premiers that the Associated Banks considered it inadvisable to float a funding loan at this juncture. SEVERE EARTH TREMOR. (Received 27, 10.35 a.m.) Melbourne, Oct. 27. An earth tremor, the worst experienced there, occurred at Boort. Residents hurriedly left their homes when the buildings rocked and plaster fell from the walls. Wim -.vs and crockery were broken but no serious damage was done. A FURIOUS STORM. (Received 27, 10.35 a.m.) Brisbane, Oct. 27. A furious storm struck Roma, wrecking a number of private residences and shops. Several other houses were unroofed and a large number of trees were uprooted. Cyclonic winds also unroofed buildings in Winton.
