WAIPAWA
PLAY-READING CIRCLE. SUCCESSFUL SEASON CLOSED. From Our Own Correspondent. The Play-reading Circle, organised under the auspices of the W.E.A., closed its 1932 season on Tuesday with a reading of Lady Gregory’s one-act plays dealing with Irish village life. The season has been most successful, plays covering a wide range of interest having been read. The fact that the circle was able to prepare and stage a play for the Drama League’s Festival at Hastings, winning against six other competitors, shows that it possesses amongst its members amateur actors of no mean ability. To give Waipawa people an opportunity of seeing the play which won the competition it will bo staged at an evening to be held in the theatre on November 15, and the programme will include another one-act play which is now in aetive rehearsal.
